contact mikes

until recently id only heard of but never used contact microphones. i found one abandonned in a freinds box of pedals and went about having a play. its amazing how sensitive these little things are. its great to rub thema long any texture or surface. after watching this video by cremdementia i was influenced to try and find more abstract sound sources that would produce more than a gruff scratching sound. i found that holding the mike inside (not outside as it has a different effect)a falling slinky you get an echoing "spacelike" sound. lots of low booms and high scratches. and of course pouring a glass of lemonade is a must!
